Curriculum
Our Curriculum meets or exceeds CA State Preschool Foundations and Kindergarten Standards.
Zoo PhonicsOur teachers use Zoo Phonics, an age appropriate curriculum, as a fun way for students to gain a firm foundation of the alphabet and their corresponding sounds through movement, songs & rhythms, rainbow and air writing, physical activity and listening centers. Each week a new letter is introduced through fun activities so children use their eyes, ears, mouths and bodies to learn. Research has demonstrated Zoo Phonics to be one of the best ways to teach young Children.
Theme Based LearningOur curriculum emphasizes monthly thematic teaching units that are broken down into sub themes. Each teacher develops age appropriate activities to support the themes and help make learning fun for the students in their classroom. This includes science, cooking, counting and manipulatives.
Well RoundedOur approach includes hands-on learning; literature-based activities and an emphasis on play, both creative and dramatic. Language development is accomplished through the use of music, dramatic play, blocks, creative art, and social interaction. It is our goal to provide opportunity for the social, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual development of the child. This well rounded approach helps engage each kind of learner in the adventure of learning.
Transitional Kindergarten
Our Transitional Kindergarten class is designed to be a bridge between Preschool and Kindergarten. An emphasis is placed on academics, helping students become problem-solvers, and life long learners. The class size is limited to 12 students so that each child can receive individual attention.
